Cave Dale, Mam Tor & Great Ridge
Arguably, one of the most popular walks in the Peak District and for good reason. Its combination of the Cave Dale gorge (overlooked by the ruins of Peveril Castle), followed by the open moorland of the Limestone Way, the heights of Mam Tor, and finally the inspirational views from the Great Ridge over Edale (north) and Castleton (south) make for a great day out in the hills.
Rating and Distance: Medium, 7.5 Miles

Old Vicarage B&B ‘Top Tip’: During summer months Mam Tor can get extremely busy, beat the crowds by starting your walk early from Mam Tor (limited car parking available).
Kinder Scout
Kinder Scout is the highest point in the Peak District. It was also the centre of The Kinder Scout Mass Trespass in 1932. Five people were arrested during the civil disobedience in a fight for the “right to roam”.
The circular walk of Jacob’s Ladder and Kinder Scout has a lot of variety. There are challenging inclines, areas of scrambling, the option of climbing boulders, stream crossings and amazing views along the way.
Rating and Distance: Hard, 8.5 Miles

Old Vicarage B&B ‘Top Tip’: There are lots of rocks on top of Kinder Scout, have some fun climbing through the rocks and taking the perfect ‘Peak District’ photos.
